Jaime Foxx is a talented guy, there is no denying that. He has been successful in both movies and music, and even has a #1 hit to his name with “Gold Digger,” which was released in 2005 and also had Kanye West on the track. However, all his success didn’t help him any when he sang the National Anthem at the Mayweather / Paquiao fight. How bad was he?
There have been some pretty bad renditions of National Anthems over the past 20-30 years. We would put this up there in the top 5. Even Roseanne Barr had to be thinking… “oh Jaime, what are you doing?” It starts bad, it continues bad, it ends bad. Not even the horrid run at the end of the rendition could save it. Furthermore, adding “hallelujah” to the end of a National Anthem doesn’t save it… you know, for next time.
